Treating With Meladine

Excerpts from the Meladine. Training and Information Manual

Meladine has provided an exciting and safe method of effectively treating blonde, white, grey and residual vellus hair for thousands of patients. However, a lot of time and understanding must go into treating with Meladine in order to make Meladine a success. Below are a few of the most critical points regarding the sale and treatment of Meladine.

Key #1: Patient compliance
In order for Meladine to be effective, it must first be applied correctly and consistently. If the patient does not comply with the full extent of the instructions, he will not build a sufficient melanin deposit in the hair follicle for the laser to target. When a patient adheres to the suggested regimen, he is much more likely to experience higher rates of success. Remember that additional applications, above what is recommended, may help to achieve a stronger melanin deposit.

Key #2: Laser treatment
Proper laser treatment with Meladine. begins with applying sufficient energy levels to the pre-treated hair. While this may seem obvious, it is important to understand that, no matter what texture or colour the hair may be on the surface, Meladine. treated hair will react to the laser as if it were a fine, light brown hair. Therefore, the hair should be targeted as such. See Lasers and Meladine. below for more detailed information.

Key #3: Realistic expectations
Since its introduction, Meladine. has been helping thousands of patients to achieve the hair removal results they are looking for. However, it is extremely important to understand that while the success rate may be high, there is no guarantee Meladine. will work the same for everyone. As with many topical applications and aesthetic procedures, variables may exist that are beyond the control of manufacturer, the doctor and the patient. Other than patient compliance, and proper laser usage, additional variables may include hormonal or body chemistry changes, age, weight gain, medication usage, etc.

Lasers and Meladine.
Meladine. has the potential to work with lasers or IPLs that are designed to target melanin in the hair follicle. However, a laser.s ability to effectively target Meladine. pre-treated hair will vary depending on its individual capabilities.

When a compliant patient has used Meladine for several weeks, histologies show that the hair follicles will become the equivalent of a light-brown, finely textured hair follicle. Even though the hair on the surface of the skin will not change colour, the follicles will be pigmented and will react to the laser as light brown hair. And even if the hair above the surface of the skin may be coarse in nature, the follicle will react to the laser as a finely textured hair.

Therefore, the bottom line in determining efficacy of the laser with Meladine is: If the laser typically has success with light-to-medium shades of fine brown hair, it should see success with Meladine in compliant patients when similar settings are used.

Remember, because specifications vary from laser to laser, and patient to patient, it is not possible to give exact settings to use when treating with Meladine.
